I am a classically trained flute player, and I studied in Scotland at the RSAMD (now the Royal Scottish Conservatoire) and then in France. My main flute teachers were Sheena Gordon and Richard Blake. My postgraduate studies were at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg with Mario Caroli (also Professor of Flute at the Hochschule für Müsik Freiburg), and I have participated in classes with Peter Lloyd, Jacques Zoon, Wissam Boustany, David Nicholson and Pierre-Yves Artaud in Paris. As well as being classically trained, I specialise in performing contemporary music, and improvised music, and you can find out more about my performances here. As a performer I have recorded several CDs of chamber music and solo repertoire, as well as given broadcasts for the BBC. One of my current projects is a recording of the 12 Telemann Fantasias, to be released in Summer 2021 on the Ulysses Arts label.

My teaching studio is located in Edinburgh city centre, and those interested in regular lessons and consultation lessons are welcome to contact me. Working with students of all ages and standards is a large part of my teaching, and I have given flute masterclasses and led chamber music courses in Universities in the UK, Latin America, and America. From 2015 – 2019 I was Head of Performance at Bangor University, Wales.

I am a member of the Musicians’ Union and Disclosure Scotland.
